A Portrait Study Course for teens and adults
Available spots
Service Description
In this course we will explore portraiture. This course will kick off with a "field trip" to the Modern Art Museum in Ft Worth to see the Jenny Seville Exhibit on January 16th. We will meet in the Museum lobby at noon to see the exhibit and then have lunch in the cafe for those who wish to join. Tickets are included in the cost of the class, but lunch is not. All other meeting times will be Wednesdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Rosie Orchard. The Jan 16th Museum trip is optional! (Note: warning the Jenny Seville exhibit does include nudity. here is the link to look up the show before going. https://www.themodern.org/exhibition/jenny-saville-anatomy-painting). The Course will start with a few projects to explore facial proportions and shading. The second part of the course will work like an independent study, where you decide on a portrait project in any style and medium, and I help guide you through it as needed. We will start with drawing and then open the class up to all materials. I will provide basic materials needed for the class, but any specialty material you choose to work with for your main project you may have to bring if I do not already have it (example: you may choose to work on a large canvas, etc.). This course will be taught by Kendra Wiggins. All materials are included in the cost of the class. This is for anyone wanting to explore and grow their portrait skills. Some basic drawing skills are recommended, but all levels are welcome! This course is for ages 16 and up. This class will be Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm- 8:00pm. Starting January 21st and and ending April 22nd (There will be no Class March 18th, MISD Spring Break). You may choose to pay in full or monthly. If you choose monthly I will send out invoices at the beginning of each month.
